Since 2002, I have been to Department of Electrical Engineering at Nagaoka University of Technology. In 1998, I have also been a visiting researcher at National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition of Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, P.R.China. I have also been a part-time lecturer in Toyohashi University of Technology during 2002-2006.

In the ATR project, I was responsible for projects on Japanese-Korean-Japanese MT and Japanese-Chinese MT, which utilize example-based TDMT (Transfer-Driven Machine Translation) methodology. I have also joined a project on developing Japanese-English, Japanese-German, Japanese-Chinese MT in its ellipsis resolution module. When I was in the ATR-SLT project, I am in charge of Japanese-Chinese-Japanese MT construction. I have also engaged to basic research on text summarization and paraphrasing since 1990.
